CHACO AKODON Akodon toba
As the name suggests this is a Chaco of the vole-like Akodon genus. The tail is shorter than the head and body. The species was long considered a subspecies of Akodon varius, but the Chaco populations of Bolivia, Argentina and Paraguay are now considered to constitute a separate species.
