PARANÁ AKODON Akodon paranaensis
Described in 2000 as a new species, this Akodon is dark olive-agouti in colour both above and below. The species apparently occurs widely in southern Brazil, eastern Paraguay and northern Argentina where it has previously been confused with other species in the genus. The species is associated with forest edge near open areas, especially in areas of Araucaria.
